Eddie Kramer Tim Pierce Edstortion PhazeVibe Guitar Pedals

Eddie Kramer Edstortion PhazeVibe Guitar Pedals

Eddie Kramer came over for a visit and brought his Edstortion and PhazeVibe Guitar Pedals. Eddie Kramer brought his new Signature Stompbox Guitar Pedals over to my studio recently. He and his partner, Francesco Sondelli, who is the founder of F-pedals, are creating some great new products. The two pedals I tried were the Phazevibe and the Edstortion. I used my Nash Stratocaster, through my Divided by 13 RSA 23 head, recording through an SM 57 microphone. The mic went straight into a BAE mic pre and then through Apogee converters and into ProTools Eddie Kramer is a very talented, and meticulous producer and engineer. He hires me to play on projects somewhat regularly. I’ve known him for quite some time. You have to go to the Eddie Kramer Website and look at his discography. Every Hendrix record! Five Led Zeppelin records, including Led Zeppelin II, and Houses of the Holy. You’ll see Beatles records, Rolling Stones records, Frampton comes alive… Eddie recorded Woodstock!! Discussing Jimi Hendrix with Eddie is one of the greatest pleasures I’ve ever had. I’m talking to the man whose pictures and name I saw on the records that literally changed my life when I was a kid. If you had told me when I was 12 years old that someday Eddie Kramer would be hiring me to play guitar and that we would be friends, I would have passed out right in front of you… Please check out Eddie’s Facebook Page, and his website, and the F-pedals website. I can tell you firsthand, Eddie is better than ever at recording music and capturing performances. Subscribe to Tim’s newsletter and get access to a private collection of videos and more. All Along The Watchtower Jimi Hendrix Solo Guitar Lesson Tim Pierce

All Along The Watchtower Solo Guitar Lesson Jimi Hendrix

All Along The Watchtower Solo Guitar Lesson Jimi Hendrix. Here’s a super short free online guitar lesson where, I teach how to play my favorite solo lick from All Along the Watchtower. Then I immediately blast into my own solo that is very heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix. I’m using my Bill Nash Stratocaster with Lollar Pickups, and I have a little delay going from my Eventide Eclipse. As usual I’m using the Custom Audio Electronics Dunlop Boost/Line Driver Pedal into my Divided by 13 RSA 23. I made a little backing track with some acoustic guitars panned hard left and right, and I then tripled the acoustic part with my old Guild 12 string panned up the middle. That made it sound a little more like the original record, where the 12 string acoustic is heavily represented. Little Wing Jimi Hendrix Guitar Lesson Tim Pierce

Little Wing Jimi Hendrix Guitar Lesson

This Free Online Guitar Lesson is with Jimi Hendrix‘s Little Wing. Little Wing is burned into most of us guitar players. I realize that I had not been playing it exactly the right way for the last 30 years 🙂 So, I learned it in a manner much closer to the original. But even after learning it, my hands were too small to actually play it correctly in some ways. I think the thing to do in this situation is make it your own because his feel is so profoundly loose and great at the same time, it’s really always a bit out of reach. For the Little Wing solo after the intro I just did my own thing. I have an original Octavia, made by Tycobrahe. I always loved that octave fuzz sound that he got that almost sounds like a ring modulator. There are so many good reissues of the original Octavia, I don’t think an old one is necessary anymore. In particular the white Octavio by Dunlop is supposed to be amazing. Once again, I use my Nash Strat with Lollar Pickups, and just a hair of distortion on the amp, not much. Hope you enjoy this Little Wing video as much as I did making it!! I probably played the intro 100 times before I attempted to film it… 🙂 Sign up to the newsletter to get access to more private videos incl. an extra video with the solo from the video.
