Melodic Soloing Tips Free Online Guitar Lesson Tim Pierce

Melodic Soloing Tips Guitar Lesson

Melodic Soloing Tips is a free online guitar lesson where I talk about Melodic Solo approaches, different Guitar Techniques and Sounds. In this Melodic Soloing Tips video you can hear some of my main influences are coming out, particularly the Allman Brothers Fillmore East live double record. It was full of the kind of melodic soloing that has become a big part of my DNA. Then in later years Steely Dan and Larry Carlton also were very very important. I’m using my Mike Tuttle Stratocaster. He winds his own pick ups, and I’m using the neck pick up which gives you that Jimi Hendrix throaty rich deep sound. Please leave any comments you may have and I look forward to hearing from you. Enjoy! I also have more lessons on my Lessons Playlist: You can find more videos as well on Brett’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/papastache102 Subscribe to Tim’s newsletter and get access to a private collection of videos and more. Jimi Hendrix Style Blues Soloing Tim Pierce Papastache Guitar Lesson

Hendrix Style Blues Soloing Guitar Lesson

Jimi Hendrix was my biggest influence of all, and the licks in this free online guitar lesson are based on All Along the Watchtower. Hope you enjoy this Hendrix Style Blues Soloing video. When I was a little kid in the 60’s and All Along the Watchtower came on the radio I started floating 6 feet off the ground! 🙂 I’m using a Stratocaster made by Michael Tuttle. He wants his own pick ups at this point but very important I have a clean tone, and I’m using the neck pick up. The neck pick up is always the most it identifiable Hendrix tone. I talk about various Double Stop Techniques, Bends, Sliding, Trills, Hammer On / Pull Off’s, Rhythm Playing and more. This Hendrix Style Blues Soloing video was made with Brett from Papastache. Please leave any comments you may have and I look forward to hearing from you. Enjoy! Jimmy Waldo Recording Session Tim Pierce

Jimmy Waldo Recording Session

Jimmy Waldo is a composer that I’ve known for a long time – he founded the band called Alcatrazz. They were pretty popular rock band and they had two very stellar guitar players – Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai. Jimmy composes a lot these days in a lot of different genres including world music. He brought over an artist named Michael Lacock, and the music was very 60s rock with lots of short solos. On this video I used my Don Grosh Retro Classic Stratocaster, my Michael Tuttle Custom Classic-T Telecaster, and a ’58 Les Paul Reissue from Wildwood Guitars in Colorado. Jimmy Waldo‘s Bio: A native of Huntington, West Virginia, Jimmy Waldo is a founding member of the late 1970’s band, New England, and the seminal hard-rock band of the 80’s, Alcatrazz. Jimmy has toured the world playing venues from clubs to stadiums, with major artists such as KISS, AC/DC and Journey. In the late 1980’s Jimmy was a member of the heavy metal band, Quiet Riot, and contributing songwriter to the band’s self-titled album, “QR.” While continuing to write and perform throughout the 90’s, Jimmy was the founding member of  Blackthorne, a heavy metal supergroup who released “Afterlife” on Polydor records Japan and the CMC record label in the US. Jimmy is the producer of ethno-dance group, Blue Tribe, producer/writer of the rock project, Absinnthe, and has traveled to Bangok, Kathmandu and Cairo to record world class players and singers for his electronica and dance remix projects, Spirit Nation and Waterbone. Currently, Jimmy writes and produces cutting edge world music with acclaimed Egyptian percussionist, Hossam Ramzey (Peter Gabriel, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page), writes original music for film and TV, and is producing new musical artists. He is also a founding member, songwriter, and current player in the Los…

Warren Huart and Tim Pierce.

Warren Huart Session

Warren Huart session. Here’s an overdub session with Warren Huart. Warren is a busy producer, engineer, songwriter, guitarist. He has a huge list of credits and notably just finished engineering Aerosmith’s new record. We are overdubbing for a song for Danni Rosner, a talented new country artist. Warren is a fine guitarist so I am always honored to be asked to play for him. We worked very quickly and I am only allowed to do a few takes, sometimes only one or two. With country music I try to keep the tones on the clean side, the trick is to get enough sustain out of a clean tone. I usually search for that one sweet spot where it’s about to bring into too much distortion but still sounds clean when playing a single note. It might be described as your favorite spot on the volume knob on the amp at about 5 or 6. The only effect I generally use is a little bit of delay between the mic pre and Pro Tools. It’s best if the delay is barely heard and if the actual delay trail is barely heard and disappears into the music. I was using my Tele made by Michael Tuttle – check out his guitars on his website. On these songs In also used the Carl Martin TremO’Vibe pedal. It’s my primary vibrato and tremolo pedal here in my studio.
