Back In Black ACDC Free Online Guitar Lesson Tim Pierce Guitar

Back In Black Guitar Lesson

Back in Black is one of my all-time favorites, it was originally recorded in 1980. [alert type=”info”] Make sure to click the D’Addario banner below and check out their Flip Tuner![/alert] Amazingly it still sounds modern, and I think that’s because everything is simple, no gimmicks. In the 80s so many guitar players drenched their sounds with effects, me included..!! But the sounds that stand the test of time are generally pure guitar and amp sounds, I believe AC/DC always kept it pure. For Back In Black, I try to hit the guitar in a particular way with my […]

Crossroads Cream Cover Free Online Guitar Lesson Tim Pierce

Crossroads Cream Guitar Lesson

Crossroads was recorded by Eric Clapton and Cream in 1968 when I was 10 years old. I started dreaming of the guitar around then, and I didn’t start playing till age 12. By the time I was 14 I was playing whatever version of crossroads I could muster. Once again I have to thank Steve Maase for being probably the greatest guitar teacher in the world. We were and still are lucky to have Steve in Albuquerque New Mexico. [column type=”one-half”]For this version of Crossroads I used a BAE DMP Mic Pre. You can see it in the background […]

La Grange ZZ Top Guitar Lesson Tim Pierce

La Grange ZZ Top Guitar Lesson

This Free Online Guitar Lesson is La Grange with ZZ Top. ZZ Top and Billy Gibbons were huge influences on me. I discovered them when “Rio Grande Mud” came out and I was just starting to play guitar in 1970. I got to see them support that record at a concert in Albuquerque New Mexico. It was just the band and their Marshall stacks, which, if I remember correctly were renamed “Rio Grande” amps, and outfitted with steer horns. Those of you who remember ‘Tres Hombres‘ – (the album with the song “La Grange” on it), will remember the […]

Mauricio Guerrero Session Guitar Recording Tim Pierce

Mauricio Guerrero Recording Session

Mauricio Guerrero and I both share a history of work with Phil Collins. Mauricio Guerrero brought over an artist he was producing named Barbara Munoz. The production was pretty amazing with real horns and real strings. The arranger is another friend of mine, Jamie Ciero. His writing for the strings and horns was brilliant. I used a newer Gibson Les Paul that I just purchased. It’s actually not a custom shop or anything but it might be my favorite Les Paul!! As usual I’m using a Divided by 13 and one of my favorite delay pedals, the Line 6 Echo […]
