Veillette Guitars

Veillette Guitars Presentation of the Avante Gryphon, Merlin and Terz. I discovered Joe Veillette through my longtime association with producer Rob Cavallo. Rob has done extensive work with Dave Matthews, and Rob acquired a Gryphon after falling in love with Dave’s. I played a single strummed A minor chord on the Gryphon. The sound was so beautiful and unique that I immediately got on the phone and ordered one from Joe. The guitar took months to build, but was well worth the wait and I’ve used it constantly ever since. So, now Joe is making the Avante Gryphon. It’s essentially the same guitar but at a greatly reduced price point. All of Joe’s instruments are wonderful, but the first instrument on my list to recommend purchasing will always be the Gryphon, and now the Gryphon sound has become very affordable. About Veillette Guitars Veillette Guitars are built by Joe Veillette, And E. Chase, and Martin Keith, in Woodstock, NY. Experiences gained as players & performers have defined our idea of what instruments are really for. Though we appreciate fine marquetry, artistic woodworking techniques & exotic woods, these things don’t necessarily have any bearing on the artistic or spiritual processes that result in the creation of music. At Veillette Guitars, we make tools for musicians. Celestial, sparkling highs and punchy mid-register allow the Avante Gryphon® to shine in a wide range of applications. Guitarists can immediately play mandolin-style parts in a new high register without learning a new tuning. As a songwriting tool, for…

Eric Berdon Recording Session

I do a lot of guitar sessions for Ken Caillat and Eric Berdon, they bring some of the highest quality songs and artists. This song was sung beautifully by a great new artist named Shaena Stabler. Ken produced ‘Rumors‘ by Fleetwood Mac and many other subsequent Fleetwood Mac records, and then he had a second huge success with his daughter Colbie Caillat. I’ve gotten to play on several of Colbie’s records – she has an amazing voice. Eric Berdon is Ken’s partner and he’s a very talented young songwriter, singer and guitarist. I used my Tom Anderson Raven a lot, Divided by 13 Amp and my Eventide Eclipse Delays. I also of course use the Line6 Echo Park which is one of my favorite delay pedals. Ken Caillet’s credits include: Stevie Nicks, Michael Jackson, Dishwalla, Ministry, Motörhead, London Symphony Orchestra, Curtis Mayfield, REO Speedwagon, Bob Marley & the Wailers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and many more.
