Brian Reeves Banjo Recording Session 2 Tim Pierce Guitar

Banjo Acoustic Electric Guitar Session Recording

Banjo, Electric Guitar and Acoustic Guitar are the elements I added on this song. Producer Brian Reeves brought over a country song. Brian Reeves is a Producer and Engineer who has worked with people like Donna Summer, Stanley Clarke, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and many more. Some of you guys might not know but a Gango is simply a guitar neck with six strings on a Banjo body. I was pleased with the way the Banjo (Gango) sounds in the chorus, and in general with the way the acoustics electrics and Gango all added up together. In the chorus I do a series of double stop sixth interval based phrases. Those of you who pay attention to country probably realize, along with me, that those style of runs are not really in vogue right now, but this song was so sweet I just kind of spontaneously went there. I can’t help but turn into Steve Cropper a bit when I play over something like this!!! In other words I feel it just as much as Motown and Muscle Shoals as it is country. Recording Session Guitar Richard Page Tim Pierce

Richard Page Session Guitar Recording

Last week I was honored to have a long time friend over – Richard Page needed guitar overdubs for some new songs. These days Richard Page writes a lot, and also tours with Ringo Starr every year. Long ago when Steve Farris left Mr. Mister, I auditioned for the band and almost got the job čÖé I was very disappointed at the time, and Buzz Feiten got the gig. A few weeks later, I joined Patrick Leonard‘s band Toy Matinee. The┬áToy Matinee record ended up being one of the best projects I’ve ever done. In another twist of fate, Richard Page replaced Kevin Gilbert as Pat’s partner on the second┬áToy Matinee record – that band was called Third Matinee. Once again I almost made the cut – I think I ended up on one song but another good friend and fine guitarist James Harrah was chosen instead – he played beautifully and did most of the record. Richard has always been one of my lifetime favorite singers and songwriters. Richard told me that his gig with Ringo is incredibly fun. The band right now is Gregg Bissonette, Steve Lukather, Greg Rolie and Richard Page – They ┬átour every summer. I was a fan of Richard’s first band called Pages and have worked with them sporadically on recording projects over the years. Most people know him from the huge hit he had ‘Broken Wings’.
