Solo Guitar Article - Tim Pierce

Solo Guitar on Outro of Song

Here’s a solo guitar on a song for a current Artist – this is in many ways my favorite kind of playing.

I have the Les Paul cranked up just enough for sustain but clean enough so you can hear all the notes. Reminds me of the Guitar Solos that were played on one of my favorite records – Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and also the lyrical playing of Bill Dillon on Sarah Mclachlan’s records.

Hi Robbie. I am using my Divided by 13 RSA 23 Amp and my CAE Dunlop Boost Pedal. Thanks for asking and also please feel free to post any questions in the Forum.

Tim, Great meeting you at NAMM. I’ve been a big fan since “Living in Oz” Thank you for signing my son’s shirt.
Are you using a cab in an iso booth, as opposed to a load box with a speaker emulator? If so, what’s your go to mic/mic pre set up? Do you ever track with the cab in the room to “turn over” a note? Thanks!

The other day someone told me about “this guy” who’s a monster studio cat. I told him this: Tim Pierce had that metronome in his head when he was just a kid playing in the guitar store across the street from the University. Everyone knew he had the goods. They’d go see his band at Alfalfas just to hear the guitar solos. Later when my kids were young, and watching the power rangers I heard that Tim Pierce sound coming out of the television and smiled. Glad to see such a nice, humble and talented guy have such a rich career. Best regards! Kas
